The task of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic is to ensure/maintain pre-trial detention, execution of sentence, forensic detention, and keep law and order in buildings of Ministry of Justice, courts and other judicial objects. The Prison Service also keeps law and order, and security in prisons and forensic detention facilities. Last but not least, penological research also belongs to the Prison Service’s main tasks and responsibilities.
